Set up in the 1970’s by the ‘Gaeltarra’ when they built a spinning mill in KIlcar which supplied tweed effect yarns to international and local craft industries. They were renamed to Donegal Tarns in 2008 to reflect their unique flecked/nepp effect yarns.

They operate a complete vertical production process from raw wool, through dyeing, blending, carding and spinning to a finished multi-colour flecked yarn targeted at the weaving, knitting and craft industries. All products are made in Ireland with production carried out in our wool spinning mill in Kilcar, Co Donegal, Ireland.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_divider color=”#173634″ _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ module_class=”custom_row” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” background_enable_image=”off” width=”100%” custom_padding=”2.5%||2.5%||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ module_class=”second-on-mobile” _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding_tablet=”” custom_padding_phone=”||||false|false” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|phone” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”Josefin Slab|600|||||||” text_text_color=”#2b2b2b” text_font_size=”20px” text_line_height=”1.3em” header_2_font=”The Youngest Serif|700|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#707070″ header_2_line_height=”1.3em” custom_margin=”||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”||1%||false|false” text_font_size_tablet=”20px” text_font_size_phone=”18px” text_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” header_2_font_size_tablet=”” header_2_font_size_phone=”20px” header_2_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” global_colors_info=”{}”]
LINKING AND FINISHING
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.23.1″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”Josefin Slab|600|||||||” text_text_color=”#2b2b2b” text_font_size=”20px” text_line_height=”1.3em” header_2_font=”The Youngest Serif|700|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#707070″ header_2_line_height=”1.3em” text_font_size_tablet=”20px” text_font_size_phone=”18px” text_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” header_2_font_size_tablet=”” header_2_font_size_phone=”20px” header_2_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” global_colors_info=”{}”]We source our wool from local artisan wool producers: Donegal yarns.
