A family legacy since 1976.

Founded by Cornelius and Bernadette Bonner, the company began with a single workshop handcrafting knitwear for local markets. Today, under the direction of their son Eamonn, Bonner of Ireland combines modern electronic knitting with traditional techniques, producing for international brands while remaining deeply rooted in its Donegal heritage.

Over the years, we’ve seen the industry change dramatically. While much of textile production moved overseas, we’re proud to stay – to invest in our people, our machinery, and our community. That decision has allowed us to preserve the integrity of Irish knitwear while introducing modern efficiency and innovation.

Our story is also the story of our team. Many of our craftspeople have been with us for decades, passing their knowledge and skill to younger generations. Together, they form the living thread that connects Bonner’s past, present, and future.
